Good Things

My brain shrunk. Not surprising. But for the Duke photo with my brother and proud uncle NW, I don't remember if Duke won. I will assume yes?

The stuffed poodle is a gift from Nonni and is a really goofy looking toy. Happily, it had many things to hang on to for Ren - nose, ears, tail, tags. :) When visiting with Nonni, we were talking about the tags on toys and she stated emphatically. "You should cut them off!" I didn't have the heart to tell her that there is a toy called a Taggie and the company is making a mint on stuffed toys and even 1 ft sq pieces of fleece laced with fun little tags. Oh well - we all learn.

Speaking of learning, Ren is recovering from an ear infection. Children get them often because their eustation tubes are more horizontal than adults. Therefore the germies get in and stay in. In adults, germs have to travel uphill to get to the ears and that is a lot of work for a germ. (For being invasive, I guess germs are lazy?). Whattayaknow? (She is much better now, but I am open for suggestions on creative ways to get the medicine down...)

Also, I am test driving an Ergo baby carrier from JJ at Monkey Bottoms (look left for the link to her site). I am liking it very much. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of the Moby Wrap, but cannot easily get Ren on my back without assistance or in a public place (since you start by kneeling on the ground). So far, so good. Ren is currently sound asleep - perfect.

I want to send a congratulations to Erika and Jeff Cowman and the birth of Kaleb Alexander Cowman this morning at the wee hour of 5:55am or so at the Baby Place. Hooray!

Also, since my lovely husband scans my blog just in case I get a wicked hair and say something unspousal - Love you!!!
