This project came out of a preschool nature book. Pictures below. Don't use your fanciest pot! You are cooking sand, after all.
Essentially: Add all ingredients and cook until thick. It doesn't take very long. Can you burn sand? Surprisingly, I didn't find out!
Her astronaut:
A sculpture this thick (one inch) takes several days to harden. Fun project. The humorous part was chipping the frozen sand out of the sandbox. Maybe I should have waited until spring, but it was for Daddy's birthday.
